Jake brings a diverse background of business and environmental acumen to the firm as a strategist within our Sustainability/ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) practice. He holds a specific passion for helping businesses solve pressing issues related to the environment and climate change.

Prior to joining D&E in July 2023, he helped create sustainability reports for public and private companies, conducted materiality assessments, improved data collection and aligned analysis with various standards, as well as enhanced waste and recycling management efforts, and worked in both internal and external corporate communications. Most recently, he served as an ESG analyst with TimkenSteel, where he helped advance the public company’s ESG reporting and disclosures, while working on projects related to waste and electric vehicles.

Jake decided to pursue a career in sustainability after spending time outdoors growing up, while also wanting to be involved in business. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sustainable business at The Ohio State University, where he was immersed in finding ways to solve the world’s environmental challenges. Upon graduating, he headed west for Colorado to learn more about zero waste and sustainability in practice at Walking Mountains Science Center, but eventually came back to Cleveland to craft Great Lakes Cheese’s sustainability program and led their first renewable energy initiative.
