Amy L. McGahan is part of Dix & Eaton’s media relations group and helps clients across various industries identify story ideas and appropriate media channels to help deliver key strategic messages on national, regional and local levels. She also helps clients navigate complex issues and crises, including construction accidents, mining and airline disasters, labor disputes and more.
Amy has assisted clients in garnering effective placements in key business, financial and trade media through developing relationships with reporters and editors at these publications and broadcast outlets. She has placed financial and feature stories in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Financial Times, Forbes, CNBC and Bloomberg Television, in addition to stories in key trade publications.
In her role, Amy regularly conducts media and crisis training for executives and field managers and arranges visits for clients with media outlets in New York, Chicago, Boston and Washington, D.C. She has worked with clients in a diverse array of sectors, including law, manufacturing, construction and environmental services, as well as civic organizations.
Amy is also an experienced project manager and account leader who has applied her writing and supervisory skills to both interactive and print media. Projects have ranged from writing and oversight of website redesigns and newsletter makeovers to management of the production of brochures, posters and other collateral for employee communications projects.
Amy joined Dix & Eaton in 1997 and has 20 years of public relations experience. Previously, she was associate director of community relations for the Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center and public relations associate for The Eliza Jennings Group. In both positions, she acted as a liaison with community organizations, conducted media and community outreach and education, and coordinated special events.
