Dix & Eaton CEO Elected to Board of Industry Trade Association

CLEVELAND – October 31, 2011 – Scott Chaikin, chairman and chief executive officer of Dix & Eaton Incorporated, has been elected to the board of directors of the Council of Public Relations Firms, the industry’s trade association. More than 100 of America’s leading public relations firms are currently members of the Council. They represent the premier global, mid-size, regional and specialty agencies across every discipline and practice
Chaikin is among five new board members of the Council, all CEOs/principals of their firms. He has been CEO of Dix & Eaton – the nation’s largest employee-owned public relations and investor relations firm – since 1998 and chairman and CEO since 2000.
In addition to his management responsibilities, Chaikin provides counsel on a broad range of communications issues to top management at many leading companies and institutions. He is frequently called upon to provide a broad array of strategic counsel and to help address the sensitive communications involved in dealing with high-impact issues such as corporate crises, financial challenges and major corporate change events. His clients have included both global Fortune 50 companies and start-ups in a wide range of industries.
Chaikin also serves on the board and marketing committee of the Musical Arts Association (Cleveland Orchestra), the board and marketing committee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the board and executive committee of PlayhouseSquare, the board and executive committee of the Greater Cleveland Partnership and the marketing committee of The Cleveland Museum of Art, and is a member of the Visiting Committee of the Weatherhead School of Management, a member of the World Presidents’ Organization, an associate member of The Presidents’ Council and an alumnus of the Leadership Cleveland program.
