The Dix & Eaton PR Internship Program
Our PR internship program is an opportunity for college students and recent
graduates to take skills they learned in the classroom and apply them in a real-
world setting. We treat our interns like entry-level professionals and, in
return, expect the highest-quality work and professionalism. Our interns work
with account team members across all of our specialty practice areas (with a
special emphasis on media relations and marketing communications) on a variety of projects, from special events planning to media relations outreach and everything in between. At the end of the semester, our interns leave with a better
understanding of how communications can impact a company, and a portfolio of work detailing everything they’ve learned along the way.
Description
The essential functions of the PR intern include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting account executives with client-related and pro-bono projects
- Various writing and research assignments
- Media relations outreach, including writing pitches and making follow-up contact with journalists to secure media coverage
- Writing, editing and distributing our weekly internal newsletter
- Assisting with executive coaching sessions
- Participating in brainstorming and staff meetings
Requirements
- Strong writing and time-management skills
- Junior or senior standing (recent graduates are also encouraged to apply)
- Relevant PR, English and/or communications background
- Available to work at least 20 hours per week
- Prior internship experience a plus
The Dix & Eaton Design Internship Program
The essential functions of the design intern include, but are not limited to:
- Providing design and production support to our staff of art directors
- Producing visual solutions for abstract concepts
- Creating visual communications with project ownership
- Participating in brainstorming and staff meetings
- Gaining critical experience through client interaction
Deadlines
Our paid internship positions are available year-round. Please use the dates
provided below as guidelines for when to apply:
Spring January – May Application deadline – November 15
Summer June – August Application deadline – March 15
