MEDIA OUTREACH
Challenge LVI Services Inc., the nation’s largest environmental and facility services firm, was engaged to demolish and implode Las Vegas’ famed Stardust Casino and Hotel towers. The implosion of the 32-story tower and an adjacent nine-story building was actually the culmination of months of preparatory work by LVI, including asbestos abatement and structural demolition. So, while the 10-second implosion got all the glory, how could LVI tell the story of the entire scope of the project and its role in it?
Solution Months in advance of the implosion, Dix & Eaton partnered with LVI and LVI’s client and subcontractor to coordinate messaging, story angles and media outreach. Dix & Eaton produced press kits containing background on LVI’s role in the project; reached out to local media, national print, broadcast and online outlets and key trade publications; and coordinated media walk-throughs on site and a news package. Finally, D&E was on site for the event to handle media relations.
Result LVI’s story received local, national and international print, broadcast and online media coverage, including an Associated Press story that ran in more than 175 outlets. |
