Dix & Eaton Joins Lumin Collaborative

CLEVELAND – July 23, 2008 -- Dix & Eaton (www.dix-eaton.com), the employee-owned strategic communications firm in Cleveland has joined the exclusive “think tank,” Lumin Collaborative (www.luminllc.com).

Lumin was created six years ago as the industry’s first think tank and continues its quest to discover the next generation of communications solutions. Founding members CRT/tanaka, Peppercom and Padilla Speer Beardsley are joined by Hispanic marketer Conexion, Capstrat and now Dix & Eaton.

The 56 year old agency is one of the largest communications firms in the Midwest and is among the country’s top 50. Dix & Eaton is best known for its expertise in the following sectors: crisis communications, employee communications, investor relations, marketing communications, media relations and transaction communications.

“I worked with Dix & Eaton more than 20 years ago as a client,” said Mark Raper, founder and chairman of Lumin and CEO of CRT/tanaka. “They were smart and creative then, and now they are even more remarkable. All Lumin members have been impressed by their consultative model and their discipline regarding information-gathering. It is no wonder that Dix & Eaton has been named the country’s best mid-sized firm twice since 2000.”

“Lumin is quite a group of “next generation” agencies,” remarked Scott Chaikin, CEO at Dix & Eaton. “We’ll be even smarter and more valuable to clients through our Lumin membership. We are especially excited by shared training and best practices.”

Key Dix & Eaton clients include: Forest City Enterprises, Inc.; AkzoNobel Corporate; UnitedHealth Group, Inc.; PolyOne Corporation; Jones Day; The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum; and Kelly Services, Inc.

Lumin is a unique intellectual collaborative. Members collaborate on best practices, conduct proprietary research, develop product concepts, support each other for business development and client support and offer special MBA-related and trends training.

As new members, Chaikin, CEO of Dix & Eaton, and Chas Withers, president of Dix & Eaton, have been named to the Board of Directors of the Lumin Collaborative.
